GCL Solar Panels review
GCL Solar Panels appear to be solar panels that have popped up over night. Now it seems everyone is offering them as a good ‘cheap solar panel’. After doing more research on these solar panels, it appears they are a very big company in China – that has recently purchased a struggling tier 2 Solar manufacturing company in China so they can now make an entire solar panel themselves and label it ‘ GCL SOLAR PANELS’ – too bad that GCL is only as good as the struggling solar manufacturer that they took over.
Since 2009 GCL-Poly has been the largest manufacturer and supplier of PolySilicon in Asia, and they also are a huge manufacturer of electronic wafers for many other solar companies in the solar industry.

Why has Australia been inundated with GCL Solar panels recently?
As you can read here, GCL plans to really get their hands even more dirty in the Solar Industry, both globally, but are prepared to have a real decent crack at dominating the solar market in Australia.
GCL Solar has just recently announced that they have bought a 51% share in one of Australia’s solar Wholesale retailers, One Stop Warehouse – This is why you see them offered by every Tom, Dick and Harry selling solar at the moment, the solar companies local wholesaler has clearly whispered in their ear when last talking about stock order, I imagine it would have gone something like this.
Solar Company; ‘Darty, I want to place a new order for stock on this months jobs’
One Stop Warehouse:’ Sure, but… I’ve got some new GCL Solar panels in from China, they are a new thing here in Australia from China, and they appear very impressive, tell you what, I’ll do you a deal on them and see how we go from there?’
Customer: ‘Sure, for that price can’t really go wrong, sounds great!’
And now it has been 6 or so months that has passed, and there is no shortage of GCL panels in the local Australian (especially Brisbane) market at the moment, while it is still early days, we are unimpressed by what we can make of the GCL Solar panel manufacturing quality so far.
GCL Solar panels – Poor build quality
GCL solar have been inUSA since entering that market way back in 2010.
It is probably not a good idea to choose them over a decent, reputable and well established Tier 1 solar panel, such as a Jinko, or Qcell. Sadly, there will be quite a few unfortunate people who will have been caught out by cheap and nasty GCL solar panels – Let’s hope GCL solar panels improve on their quality – They certainly need to!
